Invisalign Technology

In recent years, a new option to correct the misalignment of your teeth has become available.   Less restrictive yet very effective, Invisalign aligners are the solution of choice if you wish to preserve the aesthetics of your smile during orthodontic treatment.

At the dental clinic Dr. Fritz Dimitri Joseph, we do not hesitate to recommend orthodontic treatment using Invisalign because we know that our patients will appreciate both its simplicity and level of comfort.  Specifically, the technology uses custom trays.  These trays are both transparent, removable and are changed every two weeks.  The teeth gradually move through each transition, millimeter by millimeter, to the final desired position.

In contrast to conventional orthodontic treatment, the Invisalign aligners do not require you to change your eating habits because you remove them during meals.  In fact, only the consumption of water is permitted when they are in the mouth.

For best treatment results, Invisalign aligners should be worn for as long as possible  every day, both day and night. We recommend that you wear the aligners at all times, except when eating or brushing your teeth.

Wearing Invisalign aligners is not painful.  However, it is normal to feel a slight discomfort for 2 or 3 days after the insertion of each new aligner.  The initial tightness of each new aligner represents the effectiveness of the treatment.  In other words, your teeth will be moving gradually toward the next phase of alignment.

Some people experience minor speech problems during the first few days of wearing the first aligner. They disappear completely as the tongue becomes accustomed to the presence of a foreign body.
The duration of treatment with Invisalign depends on the severity of the misalignment of teeth.  In general, the number of aligners varies between 12 and 48.  Visits to the dentist can be expected approximately every 6 to 8 weeks so that the doctor can assess the changes in your teeth.
